Fiesta and Parade Restrooms: what it covers
Quick answer
Fiesta San Antonio spreads more than 100 events over 11 days each April, with parades downtown and parties in neighbourhoods across Bexar County. Organizers rent portable toilets for staging areas, crowd points and private events, planned around closed streets. San Antonio Porta Potty Rental connects you with an independent local provider and nothing is promised about delivery times.
Fiesta is a citywide habit, not a single event. In 2026 it ran from 16 to 26 April, marked its 135th anniversary and listed more than 100 events. The Battle of Flowers Parade took place on Friday 24 April, and local television reporting expected more than 350,000 spectators downtown. The Fiesta Flambeau night parade followed on Saturday 25 April with about 150 entries. Those numbers describe what was expected, not a confirmed count, and this site quotes no attendance as fact.
What matters for toilets is the pattern. Crowds gather early along closed streets, stay for hours and leave all at once. Parade groups assemble in staging areas where marchers, floats and horses wait. Beyond downtown, church grounds, neighbourhood associations, schools and families host their own Fiesta events in yards, lots and parks, from small gatherings to dance-and-food nights.
San Antonio Porta Potty Rental is a call line, not a fleet. It connects organizers with independent local providers who deliver, service and remove the units. Fiesta weeks are the busiest of the spring, so the best advice is to call as soon as the plan is firm. Providers supply what they have free, and no date, time or availability is promised on the call.
Do not place units on a street before the city has closed it, and do not move barricades to fit a truck in. Units placed in a live lane or across a fire access are a hazard. Follow the provider's and the city's instructions.
You are organizing a parade entry, a staging area or a viewing party during Fiesta
Your event lies on a street the city will close for a parade or festival
A neighbourhood, church or school Fiesta party will draw more guests than your restrooms can take
You are hosting a Fiesta fundraiser in a lot, field or yard
The date falls in late April, when afternoon temperatures can already be high
A vendor or booth operator needs toilets and handwashing close by
A previous year's guests complained about queues for the restrooms
Accessible units and handwash stations are needed for a public crowd
Cost
How much does fiesta and parade restrooms cost in San Antonio?
Fiesta rentals are priced like other event rentals, with a few extra factors because of timing and crowds.

A neighbourhood Fiesta street party in King William asks how many toilets it needs
What homeowners notice
Residents are organizing a street party for a Fiesta weekend, with food tables down the middle of a narrow block. Nobody is sure whether the city expects toilets or how many are enough.
What we do
The provider asks the hours, the expected crowd and where a truck can stop, then proposes a small bank of standard units, a handwash station and one accessible unit at the end of the block. The organizers are pointed to the city special events office to confirm what the application expects.
What to expect
The organizers receive a written quote and a map of where the units stand, with fire access and the river path left clear.

Options
Types and options for fiesta and parade restrooms
Banks of standard units at staging points
The common setup for parade groups, marching bands and horse units: a bank of standard units near where participants assemble, with a handwash station and one accessible unit. Because people wait there for hours, the count matters.
Units for spectators and street parties
Smaller groups of units near viewing spots, block parties and festival entrances. They serve people who arrived early and cannot leave their seat or space easily. Permission to stand on a closed street rests with the city.
Private-event units for yards and halls
For a family, church or association Fiesta party, a few standard units and a handwash station on firm ground. Placement is the host's decision, subject to any rules on the property.

As soon as your event is confirmed, ideally months ahead. Fiesta takes place over 11 days each April, and the same providers serve every parade, party and festival at once. No lead time is promised on this site. Ask the provider what it can supply and ask the city special events office whether it expects anything by a certain date.
Fiesta 2026 ran from 16 to 26 April. Because the dates change each year, check the official schedule before you plan, and note that this site does not hold the schedule for later years.
A common mistake is to wait for a permit before calling a provider. Call both at once: the provider can tell you what is likely free, and the city can tell you what it requires. Then adjust the plan.
How do street closures change toilet delivery?
A closed street stops a service truck, so units are delivered before the closure and collected after it. Tell the provider the closure hours, the barricade positions and the route a truck can use. Place units on the side of the closure that stays reachable, and leave fire access and spectator paths clear.
Downtown parade routes run through streets that the city closes in the hours before a parade. Once barricades are up, a truck cannot cross them. If a unit is blocked in or runs full, it may have to wait until the street reopens.
Ask the provider to give you a hard time by which delivery will be complete. The provider does not promise one on this line, but it may be able to confirm one in writing once it has your plan.
What happens if Fiesta weather turns bad?
Rain can cancel or move events. A river parade planned for 20 April 2026 was called off because of rain, according to a public radio report. Ask the provider how it handles a cancellation or a change of date before you sign, and what notice it needs to move a delivery.
April weather in San Antonio swings between warm and wet. Units on grass or a soft lot can sink or tilt after rain, and a truck may be unable to reach them. Choose paving or compacted ground where you can.
Check the cancellation terms in the written quote. A good provider will explain what happens to delivery and charges if the event is moved.
Which Fiesta events use portable toilets?
Parades, staging areas, street parties, neighbourhood and church events, school fundraisers and festival sites all use them. The big downtown parades also rely on the city and venues. Private events inside independent cities such as Alamo Heights or Castle Hills are arranged with those cities, not San Antonio.
Events at the Alamodome or other venues usually have their own permanent restrooms, with rentals as extras in parking lots and overflow areas. Ask the venue. Outside downtown, ordinary rental logic applies: count the people, the hours and the ground.
Give the provider the exact days, the address or intersection, and whether streets will be closed. Delivery has to land before barricades go up, and pickup waits until the street reopens.
Ask the city what it expects
Public Fiesta events involve the city special events office. This site holds no San Antonio count or permit lead time, so ask the office what applies to your event and pass the answer to the provider.
Place units where the crowd gathers
Put banks at staging areas, near viewing spots and at event entrances, not along the entire route. Units need firm, level ground clear of barricades and fire access.
Ask how often units are checked during the event and when they are removed. A parade ends at a set time, but cleaning and reopening take longer.
Bexar County
Why fiesta and parade restrooms is different in Greater San Antonio
Fiesta is rooted in downtown but it reaches every part of the area. Market Square and the West Side, the King William and Southtown streets, the Pearl and Tobin Hill, and the streets around Woodlawn Lake all see parties, parades or fundraisers. Each has its own street widths, and the narrowest, like King William, make truck access the central question.
Weather deserves a place in the plan. April can be warm, and afternoon heat at a parade is a real concern, with no shade for spectators on exposed streets. A handwash station helps, and so does placing units out of full sun when you can.
After Fiesta the calendar does not slow. Summer builds on the heat, and the autumn and holiday events begin with the River Parade after Thanksgiving. The River Walk and downtown page covers those.
There is no San Antonio event ratio on record here, so the count comes from your own numbers: the peak crowd, how long people stay, whether food and alcohol are served and how hot it is.
San Antonio's big crowds follow a calendar: the Stock Show and Rodeo in February and March, Fiesta in April, summer heat from late May, the River Parade after Thanksgiving and Luminarias in December.

FAQ
Fiesta and Parade Restrooms FAQs
How many portable toilets does a Fiesta parade need?
This site holds no San Antonio ratio, and attendance figures are expectations, not counts. Ask the city special events office what it expects for your event, then tell the provider the headcount and hours so it can size the rental.
Can I rent for just one day of Fiesta?
Yes. Single-day rentals are common for a parade, a fundraiser or a party. The provider quotes by day, quantity and servicing, so tell it the delivery day, the event day and the pickup day.
Who handles toilets for the big downtown parades?
The organizers of each parade and the city arrange them. This site cannot describe their plans. If you are running a smaller event near the route, you plan your own units and check with the city special events office.
What if the street closure changes?
Tell the provider immediately. Delivery plans depend on closure hours and truck routes, and a late change can mean units are delivered in the wrong place. Ask what notice it needs.
Are units available at short notice?
Sometimes, but Fiesta weeks are busy and no availability is promised. Call as early as you can and be ready to adjust the number or type of units to what is free.
Do neighbourhood Fiesta parties need a permit for toilets?
Private events on private land are usually the owner's affair, but public events or street use involve the city. Ask the city special events office, or the city hall if you live in an independent city like Windcrest or Leon Valley.
